Does MakeMKV preserve menus. features, etc.?

What is the advantage over ripping to ISO?

No, MakeMKV does not preserve menus. But it will extract all videos. For a disc with a feature and several other video presentations you get a separate MKV for each of those; incl. the little snippets for studios or Dolby Digital etc. There's a setting for the shortest video to be extracted. With a software like Plex or Emby, these will still be organized nicely.

I am going basically the same route as Dr. Killpatient and I decided for MKV, because it seemed easier to deal with. But now you make me give pause and considering starting over with ISOs ( despite being a quarter into my collection...), I should investigate a little how playback will go. The MKVs can be opened with a variety of software, haven't looked into ISO yet.

I also have an iPhone 15 Pro Max and encounter the same problem. There are three cameras in these phones and I guess DVDP is using the wrong one...

My Movies v5 and higher went to a mandatory sync model.  To each his own, but I have zero interest in being permanently attached to the My Movies online server while working with my local database much less being required in large part to conform to that database.

That is sad to read... I also hate being 100% dependent on the online system and therefore My Movies will sadly no longer on my list.

Can anyone say as to why this issue still exists after all these months? Is the app no longer supported?

The database is maintained, the software has not been updated in many years (last version was 2017).

One big difference I remember My Movies having (it's been a while since I last took a close look though), is the handling of Box Sets and even more so TV series...

The one advantage My Movies has for me (and some other users) is, that they have a native macOS version, so Windows virtualization will no longer be necessary.

But based on the first point, similar to Gunnar, I will likely only switch once DVD Profiler becomes unusable. There is always that speck of hope in me...

Just adding my voice. Same goes for iPhone 15 Pro.  Glad to pay for an update.

I also have an iPhone 15 Pro and I have the same problem.

I think it's the app using the "wrong camera", now that there are several lenses, and not the one that is suitable for close-up photography.
