| Posted: September 8, 2008 8:00 AM | | | | It took me 7 days of manually inputting all DVDs (around 700 then) into the profiler, this was due to the fact that I preferred to take the task in stages to alleviate carrying and restoring back into storage. Probably about an hour each time, so overall about 1 hour per 100 manual DVD UPC input including carrying to PC and back!. Very simple and reasonably painless to do, though a pleasure when it is all running and you have corrected/updated some dubious entries to have a fully functional piece of kit that you will continue to access regularly! |

Takes me, depending on the condition of the covers, approx. 2 hours for both front and back. That's from scanning, editing to submission. I guess it takes me so long cuz I'm just really picky. I try to make sure I get the best final results possible. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

Some scans can take 5 minutes, and some could take 15 minutes, all depending on what needs to be done. I always use uncompressed TIF images and works on then in Photoshop.
Usually I do this if there's something I'm watching on TV, but I don't to concentrate on. Usually do some during Leno and Conan, usually when their guests is on. | | | |

For covers that are in good shape and need little to no editing, it doesn't take nearly that long, perhaps 20-30 minutes. I'm still working with an old system, Dell Dimension 4100, 1ghz Pentium III with 512 MB of RAM. I work with uncompressed .tifs at 600 dpi with Photoshop CS2, so it's pretty taxing on system resources and sometimes it's slow going . | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |
