The 'Additional Crew' doesn't get parsed; quite in general as soon as I include the 'other' credits, it doesn't work as intended. For example, the names credited as get put in the slot of individual roles when I try to parse the 'other' credits. This doesn't happen when i exclude them. It would be very much appreciated if you could take a look at this. Thanks in advance! |

From older movies like Lifeforce or Friday the 13. to newer movies like Sin City or Guardians of the Galaxy. |

To add to this problem, I found out that the program is not able to parse more then 250 to 300 names in both cast and crew. Therefore, NO movie with that many or more members will get parsed in its entirety. This problem is quite new, but adds to the problem i mentioned before. |

| Posted: | | | | Is anyone else having issues getting this program to run on Windows 11 Pro (Version: 24H2 | OS build: 26100.4652) by chance? It was working a few months ago, the last time I used it. Downloaded the application fresh a short time ago. Same issue. When I run the executable the application is not displayed. It's also absent from the Taskbar. The process is present under Task Manager, but that's it. If I refrain from ending the process via Task Manager the below error message is displayed after several minutes. Perhaps I’ll install the preview version of the next Windows update. That should get me up to 26100.4770 I assume. You never know. Perhaps that will get the application back on track. | | | My DVD/Blu-ray Collection | | | Last edited: by Lowpro |

| Posted: | | | | Well, I have Windows install updates automatically, and as noted I use DVD Profiler regularly, so I assume I used it under 26100.4652... |

| Posted: | | | | I use build 26100.4652 right now, and C&C (v2.1.13.2) works. No problems. |

| Posted: | | | | I updated Windows 7 to 26100.4770 and no change sad to say. CastCrewEdit2.exe still only shows up under Task Manager when run followed by the error message shown in my prior post several minutes later. Just for kicks I ran the below executables directly. CheckForDuplicatesInCastCrewEdit2Cache.exe CompareProfilerXMLAndCastCrewEdit2Cache.exe EditIMDbToDVDProfilerCrewRoleTransformation.exe In each case Windows Defender blocked the given exe from running. Selected "Run Anyway" for each when prompted after which the application window was displayed. Each of the above now run on the first attempt without issue. So for now my workaround is to use Cast/Crew Edit 2 on my old Windows 7 laptop saving the given XML, then browsing to the file in question across the network from my Windows 11 laptop. | | | My DVD/Blu-ray Collection | | | Last edited: by Lowpro |

| Posted: | | | | So anyone else have any thoughts on this? CastCrewEdit2.exe is still only running as a background process for me eventually throwing an error. (See the error message I posted a few replies back.) Very disappointing as the application was running without issue initially per my fresh build of Windows 11. That being said, I got tired of using my old Windows 7 laptop just for this application. Came up with a much better workaround a short time ago. Had a Windows 10 iso file sitting on my hard drive so figured I might as well put it to good use. Installed Oracle VirtualBox and am back in business.
(Click on the preview image above to view the full size image.)Copy/paste wasn't working between Guest and Host at first. Finally remembered that Guest Additions needed to be installed. Doh! Was good to go after that. Whatever it takes I suppose. Guess from time to time I'll attempt to run CastCrewEdit2 locally to see if the issue corrects itself. | | | My DVD/Blu-ray Collection | | | Last edited: by Lowpro |
