| | Posted: December 27, 2011 12:39 AM | | | | Haven't run DVD profiler in a few months. Launch it tonight and it crashes immediately (very shortly after the logo appears) trying to read what looks like a NULL pointer.
Is this is a known issue? Is there a workaround? |

"Press and hold ALT while starting DVD Profiler. DVD Profiler will not load any plugins."
just in case a plugin is to blame.

If this solves your problem set DVDProfiler.exe as trusted in your security software.
If it doesn't, reinstall DVDProfiler to fix possibly corrupted entries in the registry.
To save your database copy the DVDProfiler folder from "Documents" (Usually to be found in: C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents) to another location (preferably "Desktop") | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!

Should I try an uninstall, followed by an install?
I did do a complete backup the last time I ran it a couple months ago so I think I'm ok from a data recovery standpoint. |

I bought a Creative webcam for X-mas and got an e-music freebie which lead into installing eMusic download manager. Already terminated the depleted eMusic account but got EDM still installed in OS. Uninstalling it solved the problem, now DVDProfiler is starting up as it should. Did not check the EDM version before uninstalling it so too late to say which version it was.
